Through our rescue RYP Flint Hills Animal Rescue we sometimes have a dog available for adoption. You can view adoptable dogs on this page. If there are no dogs listed, we do not have any dogs available at the moment.
All dogs are spayed/neutered and vaccinated. While in our care, we work on basic obedience and test them with a variety of things to place them in the best home possible.

Meet June Bug

June Bug was an owner surrender and super sweet. She's a little shy at first but loves quickly.

About June Bug:
Age: Approximately 1 1/2 years old
Breed: Pit Bull mix
Size: Medium, currently 41lbs and needs to gain about 5 pounds
Temperament: Playful, affectionate

Ideal Home for June Bug:

June Bug is a smart dog and fun dog that has a lot of energy. She does well with dogs 20 pounds and over, but we do not suggest that she goes to a home with small dogs.

Children: June is good with kids as long as they don't get in her face. She likes her personal bubble.

Environment: June Bug wants a home where she can be loved. A good daily walk and training is all she needs.

-June Bug is spayed.
-She is fully vaccinated and microchipped.
-She is in great health and ready for her forever home.

Breed: Heeler Mix
Personality: Super active, toy lover, and incredibly playful
Compatibility: Great with other dogs, especially larger, active ones who can match her high energy and physical play style. She hasn’t been tested with cats yet.

Outdoor Activities: Running, playing, and any outdoor adventures
Toys: Endless fun with her favorite toys
Water: She’s a water enthusiast, making her a great candidate for sports like dock diving

Woody was found in the woods with a broken tail. He is learning to like the leash and a harness. Woody likes attention on his terms.

Age: Adult neutered male
Breed: Chihuahua mix
Size: Small
Temperament: Playful and spicy, wary of strangers

Ideal Home for Woody:

Experience: Woody will need a loving home that can work with his desire to be held on his terms and will continue to work with him on his leash manners.

Children: We have not tested Woody with children yet.

Environment: Woody would be happy in any home environment, whether it's a house with a yard for playtime or an apartment. He would enjoy a quieter home.

Health info:
-Woody is neutered.
-He is fully vaccinated.
- He is in good health but does seem painful on his back left leg sometimes, and he ready for his forever home.

Meet Xylene

Xylene is an adult female pit bull/chihuahua mix (dna tested). She is very sweet with the people that she knows and was raised around rambunctious boys. Xylene is an explorer at heart and will jump/climb any fence that is shorter than 6 feet tall and chain link. She will let you know of any strangers that are hanging around.

About Xylene:

Age: Approximately 3 years old

Breed: Pit bull/Chihuhua

Size: small, currently 35lbs

Temperament: Playful, affectionate, likes adventure

Ideal Home for Xylene:

Experience: Xylene is an affectionate girl with those she knows. She will try to dash out of the door, so someone with experience would be better.
Children: Xylene was raised around rambunctious boys and does not mind the crazy. We always recommend supervision with dogs and children.
Environment: Xylene will do well in a home with another dog or lots of humans, and someone that is active. She would prefer a home where she can be outside all day and sleep in a bed at night. She is a great critter catcher.
Xylene has basic manners on leash and in the house, but off leash she does not listen the greatest.

Xylene is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.

Meet Drama!!

Drama is an adult Great Dane/Akita mix. She was brought to us with 4, 2 1/2 week old puppies. The puppies have all been adopted. She is wary of new people and does not like the rain. Once she knows you, she will love you. She enjoys playing with larger dogs.

About Drama:

Age: Approximately 5-7 years old

Breed: Akita/Great Dane mix

Size: XL, currently 120lbs, she should be about 110

Temperament: Affectionate, shy, playful with her family

Ideal Home for Drama:

Experience: Drama needs a home that doesn't have a lot of activity or one that let's her have her own space when people are over.
Children: Drama needs to have teenager or older children in the home that will not get in her space.
Environment: Drama will do well in a home with another dog that does not have a lot of visitor's. She is particular about not wanting to go outside in the rain.

Drama is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.
